Brian and Cary ask prayer for a smooth transition for many new workers coming into the country.  Also pray for their family to make new friendships as some of their friends are leaving, making it hard on the family.

Joe and Austia are thankful to their friends, who shared their son’s victory over cancer with a local couple in a similar situation, which opened doors for prayer and fellowship. Joe and Austia also led chapel at a Chinese Christian school. Pray these opportunities will pave the way for many to respond to the Gospel.

Ryan and Glenda are grateful for the arrival of Magd, a dental hygienist, and ask prayer for provision of another doctor, nurse, and administrator for the hospital. Pray for God to move among their patients, for safety and an end to the war in the region, and a long term teacher for Annoor’s kids.

Brian P asks prayer for FOCUS week discipleship training Aug. 22-30. The week includes in-depth study on the book of Mark in preparation for a new year of campus ministry. Pray for many students to attend, for conviction of sin and a deeper understanding of God’s grace, and an increased vision and passion for campus ministry.

Sasha Flek, in Prague, is excited at how the church is growing in fellowship among the congregants. Another exciting measure of God’s work in Prague is the number of new couples married in Prague’s culture designed for “singles”. Pray for the leadership team and that God will provide an appropriate worship space to accommodate 100-150 people.

Leslie Kuhn is grateful for new GEM workers in Berlin. Pray for two couples searching for long term housing in Berlin’s competitive market, and for a language partner with whom they can practice what they are learning in language school. Pray for just the right job for Leslie’s husband to utilize his abilities and interest.

Thomas and Jennifer are delighted to welcome a seminary intern from Taipei, and hope he and his wife will move to the area when his training is finished. They also pray that a person with a special burden for children’s ministry would come for a year or two.

The Youngs ask prayer for the young church plant in their city struggling to support their pastor, and for Pastor B & his wife to trust God to provide for their needs. Pray for the Youngs’ neighbors and good friends, Mr. & Mrs. L. to be open to share with them what is going on in their lives.

George and Anne Harper ask prayer for wisdom and discernment as they teach, counsel students, and edit journals related to their work. They are grateful daughter Meg completed her doctoral coursework and ask prayer for her to obtain a full-time job, and for daughter Ruth to find housing in Boston as she pursues her law degree.

Dave and Robin have successfully removed their team from Erbil and are mobilizing relief efforts for Christian, Muslim and Yezidi refugees in Northern Iraq. Pray that God would bless these efforts and protect these vulnerable people so that His compassion and salvation would be known to many even during this crisis.
