Andras Kazar asks prayer for their Budapest Project Team who is establishing their first church plant in Budapest this fall. Several individuals and families in the church are facing serious health issues. Pray that as a church body they would trust God to use these situations to glorify Himself, strengthen believers, and be a witness to nonbelievers.
Pray for Greg L as he and his team in the UK search out Pakistanis who realize they are not right with God and are open to reading the Bible. He is also trying to recruit three single men to spend a month traveling everywhere in N. Africa searching for “men of peace” who would welcome medical people, teachers, or business partners. Pray God will lead him to these men.
Karen Taylor enjoyed her month among friends in Memphis and is back in Cambodia teaching and looking for an apartment. When she returned, Phnom Penh was in the middle of a religious festival worshiping their ancestors. Pray for her as she reconnects with students and begins teaching her two assigned classes.
As the conflict continues to rage in N Iraq, Dave and Robin ask we pray God will use this to show the people their need for something more than shopping malls and independence, that the students would ask profound questions of the SG staff, and that the people of Iraq would return to a place of deep spiritual hunger. Pray for protection for staff, students, and their families as they face many uncertainties and confusion.
Pray for Heath and Angela Many who are being stretched emotionally, culturally and professionally re-learning all aspects of life. Heath begins training 12 general surgery residents from all over Kenya to leave Tenwek Hospital in five years equipped to manage patients with any sort of surgical problem. Heath and Angela ask prayer for God to give them strength and wisdom to not just survive, but to thrive in their new roles.
Praise Daryl and Marlene Bussert were able to join family in Washington State to celebrate her mom’s 90th birthday. Pray for continued healing of Marlene’s broken leg. Praise for the safety of those who attended the Aviation Technical Conference and for the Lord’s guidance in the review and improvement of standards and operational manuals and practices. Pray these will prove valuable in aviation work throughout the world.
Pray for Mitchell’s hectic schedule as chaplain to 12,000 students. Pray for his stamina and strength. Pray for Lisa as she develops a course for incoming nursing students while also helping their children settle into a new school and home environment. Pray for the family to develop some deep friendships with Indonesians and deep partnerships in ministry.
John and Dawn have just returned from a week in India, meeting with key leaders, and listening and discerning how to best serve the Lord in that great nation. This was followed by leadership development sessions in Thailand, then on to a neighboring country to connect with a special family who long to see God’s love permeate the mountains and valley there. Pray this vision will be realized in the years to come.
Pray for Ronnie Stevens who has experienced some health issues due to his extensive travel. Pray the Holy Spirit will use his teaching of Matthew in the Middle East and Genesis in Belgrade, to transform minds and hearts to produce a great spiritual harvest. Pray for Ronnie’s continued health and safety as he travels to some tenuous locations.
Pray for Theo Visser in Rotterdam as he continues to develop his church and leadership team at Leef. Pray the visit from the Burns, Colemans and Sadlows will be an encouragement and help to the team in establishing this new church. They return on November 3.
