Malawi ST Team

A team heads to Malawi tomorrow to work with World Relief in a number of ways. Rob Crump, Don Riley, Michael & Jill Stockburger, John & Britton Laughlin, and Dan & Catherine Burns will be doing training for Pastors and church leaders as well as a marriage conference and working with youth leaders. Pray these leaders and participants will feel better equipped and encouraged by Second’s team and for the team to return with a new vision for better supporting the efforts there.

Michael & Caroline

Michael and Caroline give thanks for the deepened relationship with F and her mother, for their new car, and for a new peace the Lord has given them for living in their city. Pray for wisdom in conversations and open hearts following Ramadan, for their kids as they continue to adjust, and for grace as they drive their car in chaotic traffic and Caroline learns to drive a manual. Pray the Lord will open up a teaching job for Michael.

For more info on Michael & Caroline, see page 14 of the prayer guide.

Bob & Janie

Bob and Janie request prayer for Amir as he has led many to Christ in a new refugee camp. Pray for the growth and safety of these new brothers and sisters, for Amir’s safety, and that he will be able to stay there and bring many refugees to Christ. Pray for GEM’s summer teams who are spending three months in Greece ministering to refugees.

For more info on Bob & Janie, see page 47 of the prayer guide.

Kyle & Claudia

Kyle Zimmerman is involved in creating a sports ministry for at-risk adolescent boys in the shanty-towns of Argentina where 43% of kids under age 14 live in poverty. The vision is to give these kids options at an early age and a fighting chance to avoid falling into a life-style of drugs and crime. There will be 24 kids in the first phase of the ministry in the Fatima slums. Pray for this ministry and for the small group in Fatima experiencing some difficult times. Pray for Claudia as she disciples several women in Palermo.

For more info on Kyle & Claudia, see page 65 of the prayer guide.

Chris & Debbie

Chris and Debbie Gibson care for missionaries who are serving Christ in hard and often dangerous places. They are passionate about preventing missionary attrition and do this by helping prepare new candidates before they go to the field. At EPC General Assembly they met with workers from all over the world.  Pray for them as they focus on helping in times of crises and are ready to go where and whenever needed.

For more info on Chris & Debbie, see page 42 of the prayer guide.

Tim & Tanya

Pray for Tim and Tanya B. as they launch a new Young Life Club ministry in a new neighborhood. They will bring a couple of key volunteers with them from their existing club, and also work to launch a new Capernaum Project (special needs ministry) in the same area. Pray that God will strengthen the faith and maturity of the leadership team and touch new youth with the gospel through their outreach. Pray for them as they engage in many camps this summer in both Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

For more info on Tim & Tanya, see page 19 of the prayer guide.

Rob & Tunde

Rob Futo asks prayer for the Lord to raise up men to take on leadership roles in the church. He also needs help in the youth work and in leading worship. Pray for gifted musicians and worship leaders, and for the youth activities planned for the summer. Pray Tundi will be accepted to Westminister and begin pursuing her degree in counseling.

For more info on Rob & Tunde, see page 41 of the prayer guide.

Jackie

Jackie has started a second English group with people outside the church community to gain cultural insight and a road to spiritual conversations. Pray for the community of Covenant City Church as they begin several new programs to deepen people’s dependence on Him and understanding of His Word. Pray for spiritual refreshment as Jackie adjusts to life in this new city, that God would surround her with His peace, and that He would establish His kingdom in the city.

For more info on Jackie, see page 26 of the prayer guide.

Steffen / Mittendrin

Mittendrin Church in Potsdam is growing but Steffen Weil feels spiritual warfare and asks prayer for his entire family, Nata, Carlotta, Stina, Linus, Lieve, and himself. Pray they can secure additional space for the growing children’s ministry and for the Murteh family from Cameroon with three children, one with a physical disability. Pray the father will be able to find work and stay in the country for the child’s health care.

Paul & Violette

Paul and Violette Bridgman continue to lend support to the Sakuragaoka Church especially in light of Pastor Katayama’s battle with cancer. He has chosen not to pursue surgery but to trust the Lord with his care and to use this difficulty as a testimony. Pray for him and his family and for Paul and Violette in their support. The evangelistic English classes in their home are their main ministry. Continue to pray for their ongoing health needs.

For more info on Paul & Violette, see page 49 of the prayer guide.
