China Partnership asks prayer for pastor Wang and 100 of his congregants who were arrested. Some have been released, but 80 are still missing and arrests are ongoing. The arrests and detentions have at times been physically violent and humiliating/degrading. The viciousness and thoroughness of this attack is unprecedented in recent Chinese history. Pray for the protection and deliverance of these brothers and sisters and that the church’s suffering will refine her faith and increase her joy and hope in Christ’s victory.

Tezar is grateful that God has provided two new elders, Brett, who was previously ordained and has transferred his eldership, and Elius who is in training now. Pray for Brett and Elius to help shepherd the growing flock of Covenant City Church. The Church has been partnering with an orphanage for the past year and a half and has recently expanded that partnership to fund their high school graduates who want to go to college. Pray this mercy ministry will grow and impact the hearts of these students.

Laura is finally settled in a permanent apartment in Jordan and has realized it is going to be a challenge to balance language study and all the program requirements and team dynamics. Pray she will bond well with her roommates and the rest of her new team, that the language learning will go well, and that she will be receptive to all the Father wants to teach her during this season.

Brian P reports that Covenant Hope Church continues to deal with challenges caused by being restricted to meeting in a designated building with 20 other churches. In spite of this, they are encouraged that newcomers usually stay after the service to fellowship together, cross culture friendships are being made, and five young Christian men have begun living together to build one another up. Pray for the church and its leaders, and for loosening of government restrictions.

Juan Patt is excited the ReadySetGo sports ministry to 8-15-year-olds has begun with two young men leading it. Pray those involved will learn soccer and that the gospel will become real to them and their families. Pray under Juan’s leadership the Presbytery will work together as a team revitalizing all their churches. He plans to start a computer class at Harvest Church in Calcutta, pray it will help build relationships in the community.

Giotis and the First Evangelical Church of Athens are launching a new church among the homeless, seeking to give them a place of refuge. George Tolias in Glyfada, a suburb of Athens, is also working to launch a daughter church in the university area of Athens. Pray for these church planting leaders, who both lead their own churches and help mobilize others to plant new churches in Athens. Pray for wisdom to help their congregations engage in the needs of their city and to balance the needs of their churches, city, & families.

Thomas and Jennifer report their church is growing faster than they can handle and with the Christmas season approaching, is even busier. A short-term team from Singapore arrives tomorrow to help for ten days. Eleven people signed up for the class to learn how to use a study Bible and gratefully Bibles have been donated for the project. Pray for an indigenous leader to work alongside them for a season and for church giving to support his salary.

Theo Visser continues to serve both as the lead pastor/coach for Leef! and as the founder of InterCultural Church Planting Europe. He is coaching the newly designated lead pastor of Leef!, as well as the church planter for a new church launched by Leef! Pray for wisdom to encourage and support these two new pastors in building multicultural churches as he continues to recruit and mobilize leaders to build similar networks in their countries. Theo asks for prayer for new leaders and training conferences in France, Italy, Greece, and Scandinavia.

Of the five million people who are blind or with impaired vision in Ethiopia, nearly half of them can be cured with MSICS surgery which Scott Lawrence taught to medical personnel in Memphis recently. Pray the training, research projects, and visiting personnel will bring hope to many. Pray for the investment and training of the 23 residents in the St. Paul’s residency program.
