Steve & Marion

In the Genesis University Project, Steve and Marion Spencer have been blessed with a godly and competent team of advisors and officers. Pray they will receive their South African visas and for all aspects of their move from Malawi to S. Africa including renting a home, purchasing a vehicle, and finding the best options for schooling their three youngest kids. Pray for encouragement in raising the start-up cost and for personal encouragement for each member of the family in this new endeavor.

Nick & Amanda

386 days from the day he applied, Nick received his residency visa on his birthday. They found a new apartment and are settling into ministry. Nick plays soccer with the guys as well as teaching math in the church’s school and Amanda is doing Bible study and the Crochet Project with women. Praise the family will now be able to stay and continue their ministry. Pray for them as they reach out in love to neighbors, friends, and classmates.

Dave & Robin

Dave and Robin indicate that January and February are typically the strongest months for recruiting for Iraq, and they are praying for 8 much-needed new team members. They welcome short-term teams to help with the work being done by the Greece team and pray for 6 church groups this year. Finally pray for Dave and his mom’s health issues and for the renovation of their downstairs office into a refugee ministry center.

Jackie

Although Jackie misses her family and friends during the holiday season, Jakarta has truly become home to her. She enjoyed leading a women’s Advent Bible study and the Thursday night community group that meets for food, fellowship and discussion of the week’s sermon. Pray for the Saturday afternoon women’s Bible study to be eager to study God’s word. Jackie’s prayer is that she would not just survive and endure but truly rejoice in the Lord and His faithfulness.

For more info on Jackie see page 26 of the prayer guide.

Aileen

Aileen had a wonderful gift at Christmas as many of the former patients returned to spend a day with them at Annoor and to pray. Annoor is the only hospital in the country in which the Bedouins can hear the truth of Jesus and be healed physically. Pray those who know Him were encouraged and strengthened in their faith. Pray for the staff still awaiting residence renewals and that the Lord would intervene allowing them to remain in Jordan to continue to serve.

For more info on Aileen see page 5 of the prayer guide.

David & Aliece

Despite extensive travel and national tension, David continues teaching, preaching locally, and providing discipleship training while also translating a 700 + page commentary. Aliece also has teaching responsibilities and runs the counseling center in addition to homeschooling their children. Pray for both David and Aliece to have wisdom, strength, health (especially his injured wrist), and the ability to balance home and ministry needs.

For more info on David & Aliece see page 59 of the prayer guide.

Scott & Tina

Pray for renewed strength and health for the Lawrence family as they have been battling illnesses. Pray for Scott to have wisdom in responding to work challenges requiring extra energy and focus in the coming months. Training is a major focus of their work in Ethiopia and currently there are 23 ophthalmology residents. Pray for Scott and the team as they will graduate the first class soon with Scott mentoring in clinical and surgical skills.

For more info on Scott & Tina see page 76 of the prayer guide.

Norm & Ruth Ann

With some restructuring in the Pioneers-US office Norm and Ruth Ann Leduc are wondering if the Lord is calling them into a new chapter of ministry. Pray as they travel to Europe hoping to discern if this is the path of service the Lord is calling them to. Pray for wisdom, discernment, unity, and faith. Pray for the new Bosnia Launch Team as they persevere with culture and language acquisition, and for the seeds of the Gospel being sown in Bosnia.

For more info on Norm & Ruth Ann see page 9 of the prayer guide.

Roger & Abi

Pray for healing of Abi Lowther’s recently injured ACL which means some responsibilities had to be shifted. Pray for Roger and Abi and their four boys as they utilize their musical and artistic abilities in helping grow the Church in Tokyo. Roger states “Art makes us yearn for that perfect peace promised by the coming of the kingdom of heaven”, pray their efforts will help the Japanese respond to that yearning with faith in Jesus Christ.

Thomas & Jennifer

It has been a very busy season for Thomas and Jennifer with 10 different outreaches in a month and a short-term team from Singapore there to help them. They long for the Gospel to reach Zhongpu and for God to build His church there. Pray for the 13 weekly adult meetings for the study Bible project, and for those believers still to be baptized who have opposition from their families.
