Greg and Elizabeth have been busy as they settle into life and ministry in the Middle East. They moved into their new home and are furnishing and organizing it. The soccer team has begun league play again and they welcomed Greg with open arms. Their teammates, Nick and Amanda and their kids, have made settling in much easier and enjoyable. Pray for both families as they work together to bring new life and hope to some whose lives have been disrupted.

Thomas and Jennifer give praise for the growing youth group which meets monthly and ask prayer they will come to know Christ. Pray that Jackie, who is studying the Bible with Thomas, will turn away from the local idols and temple parties to the living Lord. They are making some changes in the park ministry to improve its effectiveness and are grateful some church members are beginning to be more fully invested in the ministry.

Valery and Janna are grateful for how God has called, trained, and sent out missionaries in the twenty years of Wycliffe Russia’s existence. Ten missionaries served, with some continuing, in South Asia; twelve in African countries; and twenty-seven in countries of the former Soviet Union. Pray God will guide the ongoing work of translating and sharing in native languages.

Gibson asks prayer for peaceful elections in Malawi on May 21. Pray for those in Southern Malawi who have been affected by the floods and for the church as they assist there. One of the programs World Relief is keen to introduce to every church empowerment zone is Families for Life. Pray for World Relief Malawi, the staff, volunteers and resources, and for health and protection of Gibson and his family.

Lenden and Gemma share that work in Baku is not easy and can take a toll physically, spiritually and emotionally. They ask prayer for several relationships that God may be opening. The girls are doing well, Jazzy enjoys her school friends and they are looking for a good 1st grade teacher for Aubrey who passed the government’s simple language test. Pray God will continue to open doors and hearts and give spiritual encouragement to the whole family.

Pray for George and Phaedra as they have adopted a “life on life” ministry for Glyfada Church that started in 2013 with 25 attendees and now has 80 members. They and their three children live in the Glyfada suburb of Athens uniquely positioned to target the area’s young couples and business professionals and have developed a program called Bluprint, an innovative program to minister the hope of the gospel through business development, training, and funding.

Jeff is working on his Japanese conversation, and he and Katie meet with young Christians to read the Bible together and encourage them. They need prayer as they look to the future and for their role in helping choose the location for the new church plant in Tokyo. They are asking for guidance for the best place to locate and what the college ministry will look like.

Pray for Michael and Caroline as he finishes his year teaching at the university and they move back to the U.S. in June. Pray for the influence they have had on students, colleagues, and friends while in the Middle East. They feel they have grown in their gifting and ministering abilities, and are stronger in their marriage and understanding of their calling, equipped and more focused in what the Lord wants them to do in the next chapter of their life. Pray for them as they prepare for this change.

Jonathan and Sharon have moved from Delhi to a city closer to her family as they prepare for a new season in their lives. Jonathan will be doing several trainings around India for a group he helped to start called “Imagine 2030” preparing young leaders in skills and spiritual disciplines for challenges ahead over the next decade. Pray the brief rest in the mountains will prepare the family as they move into a transition period.

After finishing surgical training, two general surgeons and two orthopedic surgeons graduated from Tenwek Hospital and were welcomed by the twelve previous graduates. Praise for how God is using them for His glory in Kenya and East Africa. Pray for Heath who has taken on increased leadership and administrative roles in addition to his training responsibilities. Pray for Angela and the OB/GYN team as they develop their residency program.
