Roger & Abi

Roger and Abi request special prayer for their ministry on the 20th of each month. Roger shares that in Tokyo schools are closed, offices shut down, and the situation is urgent. Grace City Church was forced to move worship online. He specifically asks prayer that the God of all comfort would comfort people in their fears and that the church can effectively be the hands and feet of Christ in Japan during this time of crisis.

Guille & Debbie

Guille reports that Mision Beta began their second group of church planters and leaders at the incubator program. The Nuevo Avivamiento Church participated in the Chinese New Year festival with a booth and activities for sharing the Gospel. It was great to see the youth group so committed to share the Good News. Because of the location of the church in China Town some members were afraid to come to worship, pray the live broadcast they began encourages some families to host home groups and participate in the service that way. Pray for Guille and his family, for strength and good family time.

Valery & Janna

Valery & Janna ask prayer for their son Kirill, who is 30 years old; he has a wife and a 3-year old son and has worked for the Gideons for the past two years. Kirill is in Intensive Care with stage 4 Lymphoma. Doctors started chemotherapy last Friday and finally, after three weeks, his severe pain has subsided. Please pray that the treatment will go on smoothly and effectively and that no one in the family will lose heart. Praise the Lord for the comfort that only He can bring during this suffering.

Robby / GROW

Robby reports that Lebanon is on mandatory lock down and the GROW Center remains closed to follow government policy. They continue their work with the children and families via online and phone calls, giving guidance and structure to parents to help their children feel grounded, and coaching families through the mental and emotional changes they are facing. The staff reports they are seeing many open doors to share Jesus’ life and teaching with the families. The Philemon Project is working on purchasing property in Kfarshima, another underserved area of Beirut. The owners have agreed to sell their land for a reduced price. Pray for resources and that Robby will be able to sign a formal purchase agreement for the land.

David & Lisa

Although David and Lisa’s city has been on lockdown since the end of January and they can only leave their apartment every 2-3 days to get groceries. They have been able to get necessary supplies, but medicine for Bella has been difficult as all outpatient clinics are closed. They continue to hear from their mountain people weekly just to make sure all is well and to offer them encouragement. Dave is providing training, via phone, with the Indian medical students while encouraging them to start small discovery Bible studies where they currently are until they can return.

For more info on David & Lisa see page 30 of the prayer guide.

Jackie

Jackie asks prayer for Indonesia as they respond to the virus. Much of the country lacks access to good medical care, so the impact of the virus could be devastating. Jakarta is the logical hotspot with 30 million people in the metropolitan area making social distancing very difficult. Pray for the government to be wise in their response, for daily workers as they struggle to survive, and for the medical workers and hospital systems which are already strained and overwhelmed. Pray for the gospel to be proclaimed boldly, that God would make His people courageous as we hear His call and willingly, gladly sacrifice our all for His glory.

Craig & Stacy

Craig and Stacy give thanks for a diagnosis and encouraging outlook for his vision. Emory Eye Clinic diagnosed Craig with NAION, the first episode in his other eye was 18 years ago. Thankfully, there is a less than 6% chance of recurrence, so Craig’s sight should remain as it is with no further loss. Family changes are on the horizon as Karis will be heading to Covenant College in August. Pray for these adjustments to family life.

For more info on Craig & Stacy see page 74 of the prayer guide.

Steve & Marion

Steve and Marion are back in St. Louis due to the S. African government locking down the country. However, their team is still hard at work writing curriculum for their first degree and preparing documents for institutional approval with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). They are looking for a site to begin school in 2022. As part of the criteria for government approval and accreditation, they must find a location (preferably a church) to host the first classes of Genesis University. Pray for Godly wisdom and guidance as they select a site.

For more info on Steve & Marion see page 88 of the prayer guide.

Easter

Although Easter will look different for many around the world in light of the current crisis, pray that through our missionaries, many will find peace and comfort in Christ. Pray for opportunities, in small groups or even remotely to share the joy of the resurrection with others. Pray they will bring calm and peace to those who have not heard or do not know the only one who can bring personal peace. Pray they will reflect the love, joy, and compassion of the risen Lord as they confront nonbelievers in such a way that His Kingdom is expanded and is God glorified.

Dean & Kyria

Dean and Kyria are grateful for their safe arrival in Central Asia and for the help they received from their new teammates, Lenden and Gemma. Pray they will be an encouragement and help to them in their ministry. As they immerse themselves in language learning, pray for a good language helper for each of them, and for local families with whom to explore immersion home stays in the future.
