Kyle & Claudia

As Kyle and Claudia and their family are under strict quarantine at home, they ask prayer for the church as it reaches out in Buenos Aires. Pray many would come to Christ through this pandemic as they meet online and in virtual small group meetings. They are particularly concerned for the residents in the shanty town who survive day to day and are reaching out to them through food drives. Pray for those in the shanty town who are already vulnerable and live very close together in a small area.

Lenden & Gemma

Lenden and Gemma report there have been a series of challenging relational, spiritual, financial and emotional situations within the ministry this past year. One positive note is that their relationship with key ministry leaders has grown immensely through this difficult time. Pray for their church to have wisdom and God’s spirit to work through these situations. Pray for wisdom, encouragement and guidance for them and their team as they seek to share the love of Christ in their city.

Daryl & Marlene

Daryl asks prayer for the leadership at JAARS headquarters, Wycliffe Bible Translators, and Summer Institute Linguistics International. Many decisions are being made regarding the coronavirus pandemic that not only affect the members, volunteers and employees of these operations, but will also have effects worldwide where much of the Bible translation and related ministries take place. Pray for wisdom and to follow the Lord’s direction.

For more info on Daryl & Marlene see page 58 of the prayer guide.

Chris & Jen

Chris and Jen have seen the Lord use the hardship of this time to draw students to Himself, but also see dangers in the time ahead as a lot of new believers are seeking to walk with God in places of unfamiliarity and isolation. This motivates Chris and Jen even more to move forward with college ministry in Athens and they have been in communication with the pastors doing team building there. Pray for those considering joining their launch team. Pray for guidance as their departure date is up in the air as they wait to see how things unfold around the world.

Haley

Though Haley is sad to not be visiting the States this spring, she is grateful for the opportunity to begin her work at Annoor Sanatorium early. Goodbyes were left in a lurch in Aqaba, please pray the Lord will provide closure and comfort in the months to come. Pray for the patients at Annoor who are at high risk for the virus because they have TB. Pray for protection and for the work with many impoverished families, that their daily physical and spiritual needs will be miraculously met.

For more info on Haley see page 44 of the prayer guide.

Leonardo

In the early days of the pandemic, the Evangelical Alliance called for a National Day of Prayer, and almost 90% of the Italian evangelical movement took part in this initiative. Leonardo was grateful for this and that during this time their son Aki was baptized even though church services were cancelled. The testimony of their son was very moving to the handful of believers attending and those watching on livestream. Pray for protection for Valeria as a nurse visiting the many patients in her district who are frail.

For more info on Leonardo and Valeria see page 7 of the prayer guide.

Mike & Stephanie

Pray for the fullness and inspiration of the Spirit as Mike K contemplates and works on his book on spiritual formation based on Peter’s relationship to Jesus. MIke reports that ITEN feels the recent trip to Sudan opened the way for a partnership there at a very strategic moment, pray this partnership will grow and glorify the Lord.

For more info on Mike & Stephanie see page 41 of the prayer guide.

Judy Mbugua

Judy’s Homecare Spiritual Fellowship, like most ministries, had to shut down programs. The Bethel School of Dressmaking has been suspended and the Children’s Bible Clubs retreat rescheduled. Pray for the care and guidance of HSF staff who minister to those who are so needy, and for the staff to have wisdom as they adjust to new ways of reaching them.

For more info on Judy & HSF see page 84 of the prayer guide.

Robby & GROW

Robby asks prayer for the 18-female staff at GROW to continue to be salt and light to the community they love and serve despite difficult economic circumstances. The work of GROW is being done virtually with teachers giving parents the guidance and structure to help their children feel grounded, and the social worker meeting regularly with families to coach them through mental and emotional changes they are facing. The staff reports they are seeing open doors to share Jesus’ life and teaching with the families they serve, pray this will bear much fruit.

For more info on Robby & GROW see page 39 of the prayer guide.

Norm & Ruth Ann

As they have seen so many churches and ministries shifting to an online platform, Norm has been grateful that the internet presence of AWM continues. Their team reports that many responders are engaging with them through chat rooms and social media asking questions. Pray these responders will be led by God as they respond: 2.9 million people from 130 countries have visited their website with over 7,000 in active contact online and 393 seekers professing faith.
