Thomas and Jennifer are grateful for the Chiayi Baptist Church members who are now leading the Wednesday night Bible studies. Pray they will serve as role models to encourage local members to rise up and lead. Pray for Thomas to finish his Mandarin studies and be ready to start a men’s group in the fall. Pray the non-Christian women attending the mom’s group will continue to come, and to seek, despite opposition from their families.
Pray for Jake and Shanelle’s marriage to be deeply rooted in Christ. Pray for them as they build their marriage and look for Master’s programs to pursue their desire to serve the Lord. Pray those with whom they shared the Gospel in E Asia will continue to grow and for those yet uncommitted to be drawn to the One who loves them.
The Zimmermans are grateful for the team from Second who came and assisted them in ministry in Buenos Aires. Pray for the small groups of men Kyle meets with in Fatima (shanty town) and Palermo, and for the new group of non-believers. Pray for Kyle and Claudia as they comfort a dear family in the Palermo church who suffered a loss in their family through a horrific experience.
The Youngs ask prayer for their friend, driver and co-worker Munna stricken with a liver condition requiring rest and medication, and for God to continue to work in the hearts of his family members. There was disappointment at not receiving the Rotary funds for the MEDIC program. Pray for God’s provision for the work. The OMEGA church leader mentoring course is going well, pray for the next unit being taught.
Pray for Tim Blaylock, 2PC first responder, as he transitions to Kyrgyzstan to begin work with Central Asia Young Life. Pray for God’s provision in every way and that Tim will immediately establish rapport with young men who will be receptive to the Gospel. Pray for wise, discerning relationships as he seeks to live out his faith.
Pray Dave and Robin’s recent trip to Greece gave insight into the possibility of another direction for Servant Group’s ministry. Pray for the planning and preparation for the three Classical Schools of the Medes, the new teams going to support them, and for the Shepherd School teaching 1,000 refugee camp children. Pray for the Lord’s wisdom and guidance for Dave as he evaluates and oversees these endeavors in unstable areas.
Pray for Greg and Ginger as they leave the mission field and begin the search for a pastoral position in the US. Pray for Ginger who is still grieving the death of her father, and for the children as they adjust to another culture after just getting resettled in E. Asia following home leave in the US. Pray for all the logistics and adjustments the move necessitates.
Pray for Tezar and Tatiana who just arrived in Indonesia to begin their church planting work. Pray they will be able to settle into their new home and that Tatiana will be able to get started in language study. Pray the Lord will lead Tezar as he begins to build relationships and develop potential team leaders.
Brian is bringing his entire Dubai Team, the fruit of 13 years of ministry in the Arabian Peninsula, to lead the Cross and Crescent Conference, August 4-8 in Louisville, KY. The conference is designed to help students consider how to respond to Islam. Pray the students attending will be encouraged and equipped to interact faithfully with Muslims and effectively communicate the love to Christ.
Roger and Abi Lowther have just had their largest event of the year, the gospel festival in Ishinomaki in cooperation with local churches, NPOs, businesses, and volunteers. In addition they have welcomed many short-term teams. Pray for the fruits of their time and labor. Pray God will provide the right event space for them to rent and that they would find favor in the eyes of the owners and neighbors.
