Norm & Ruth Ann

This has been a time of “energizing fatigue” for Norm and Ruth Ann as they close-up home and work in the US and move to France. They are looking for housing and trying to get settled before leaving for England for Norm to build relationships and gain a better understanding of his new position with Arab World Media. While in England Ruth Ann will be able to give member care to Pioneer teams in the area. Pray for peace, grace, and good communications during this prolonged period of transition.

Herb & Heather

Herb and Heather had the joy of participating in their daughter Honor’s wedding before returning to lead the work at Annoor hospital in Jordan. They continue to see God doing miracles in the lives of the patients he brings there. They ask prayer for such miracles in the lives of patients afflicted with tobacco addiction as many leave completely healed of TB but go back home and smoke. The hospital can hand out medication but cannot force a person to give up cigarettes.

For more info on Herb & Heather see page 12 of the prayer guide.

Leslie

Leslie is thankful for travel mercies and good rest during her home leave in Memphis. She asks prayer for the new staff in Frankfurt, that they would not be discouraged as they experience the difficulties of getting settled in a new place. Pray they would be actively listening to what the Lord is speaking into their lives in this transitional phase. Pray for Leslie to show the love and care of Christ to these workers in a new country and culture.

For more info on Leslie see page 62 of the prayer guide.

Greg & Elizabeth

Greg and Elizabeth just celebrated their first anniversary of marriage in Lebanon. They graduated from phase two of their language study and are making progress. Elizabeth recently stayed overnight in the hospital with a Kurdish Syrian friend after she had her baby. Greg has joined the soccer team with Syrians. Pray for their perseverance and growth in language, that they continue to grow in their understanding of Syrian culture, and to be faithful witnesses in every opportunity the Lord provides.

For more info on Greg & Elizabeth see page 67 of the prayer guide.

Brian & Joanne

Brian reports that Covenant Hope Church is doing well with membership hovering around 90 – 100. The community in the church is very close and loving with lots of cross-cultural discipleship and evangelism taking place. He is thankful for the spiritual growth in the church. They are welcoming two interns this month, one from Memphis and the other from India who wants to plant a church back in his hometown. Pray for the Church and for these two leaders to mature in their faith and leadership.

For more info on Brian & Joanne see page 14 of the prayer guide.

Haley

Haley is making solid progress with her language study in Jordan. Pray her growth in language and cultural understanding will enable her to witness to God’s love and presence in the lives of her team. She was able to spend a few weeks at Annoor and asks prayer for several patients, particularly one man from where she lives. Pray Haley will continue building relationships with his family, for protection for him from contracting TB, and for the wife’s long-awaited pregnancy to go well.

For more info on Haley see page 71 of the prayer guide.

Lenden & Gemma

Lenden and Gemma are learning the language but still lag far behind their two daughters who are learning language in school. Lenden has become the team leader as their former team leader has been assigned to another locale. Pray for language acquisition, wisdom to figure out priorities, and the opportunity to encourage and strengthen the vision of local church leadership.

For more info on Lenden & Gemma see page 23 of the prayer guide.

Judy

Judy’s Homecare Spiritual Fellowship ministry is doing well, even with helper Njeri being away for six months caring for family. Pray for Judy teaching the Thursday meetings and Esther overseeing the Bethel Dressmaking program. The teachers were delighted that so many students returned to school following vacations rather than finding work. Pray for the training, educating, medical care, and love this ministry provides to so many in need.

For more info on Judy see page 43 of the prayer guide.

Mike & Stephanie

Recently Mike traveled to Syria saw churches which had been totally or partially destroyed, some being rebuilt by the people, and pastors and leaders fiercely loyal to their country and to their remaining flock. With EPC’s ITEN (International Theological Education Network) he will be training, teaching, and writing, both across the US and globally in Muslim-ministry contexts. He has just completed an intensive course at a seminary, pray it opens eyes and hearts to the opportunities before Christian leaders everywhere.

China Partnership

China Partnership asks for prayer focused on the needs in Xuzhou. One of the thriving, gospel-centered churches was forced to close last month. Pray for the harassed church members, wearied pastors and leaders under pressure from constantly dealing with authorities, and for new believers. Pray for safe new locations for the church to continue to meet, and for two campuses who lost their rented space because the government made threats against the landlords. Pray for renewal for all Xuzhou believers.
