China Partnership

Second is among a group of US churches involved in the China Partnership which has seen much training of pastors and leaders this past year. The five Gospel DNA training sessions drew 136 new church leaders from 59 churches and the preaching symposium had 619 church leaders from 189 churches. Pray for the ongoing training of these leaders and for the Gospel to be clearly and accurately presented.

Kyle & Claudia

The Zimmerman family is back in Argentina following a short home leave in the States. Pray for the kid’s smooth transition back to school. While they were away a group of men and women that Kyle put together has been laying the ground work for the new sports ministry to the kids in the shanty town. Pray for this ministry in their church that includes members from the three La Mision sites in their leadership.

Save

Brian & Terri

Brian F gives praise for the nine students who came to the Lord through the CO ministry in Thailand. He welcomes Carrie to the LEAD team bringing the number to seven plus his family. Lift up these new believers, the CO staff at the various colleges, and for the Brian and his family as they continue their home assignment with travel, meetings, and reconnecting with family and supporters.

Jackie

Jackie is grateful for opportunities to practice language in informal settings, to have conversations with girls still seeking a relationship with our Father, and for progress toward being able to teach English informally to people of the majority religion. Pray for perseverance with language study, for her friends Nala and Lane in their spiritual needs, and that God will guide her to the right places to volunteer in order to build relationships with people from different backgrounds.

David & Lisa

David and Lisa rejoice that many young Tibetans have come to Christ this past year and at least 20 young people were baptized. The new printed Tibetan NT has been well received and used extensively. Pray for recordings to be done and the accompanying app to be released. Pray for small fellowships of Kham believers, for wisdom, effectiveness, and health for those who are leading and discipling.

The Youngs

The Youngs are passing off leadership of their local team to teammates Joshua and Ruthie though they will continue to be part of the team and community. This is necessary as they will spend much of 2017 on home assignment beginning in April. They are adding a medical component to four focus areas of ministry: micro-finance, mentoring local church leaders, engaging the untouched Muslim community, and having a healthy team of healthy people. Pray for three young men, Af, Fa, and Q to be people of peace who will open doors for the ministry.

The Judah Team

The Judah Team of the Sundanese Christian Fellowship consists of three families serving the unreached people of West Java. Through their ministries several house churches and discipleship groups have been established. They ask prayer for the discipleship programs to meet once a month and for the government to accept the team whenever they visit new areas. Pray for the team to grow in their personal relationship with the Lord, family health, and for the children’s education.

Joseph & Mandi

Joseph has been in another city investigating alternatives and options for the MEDIC program. The new structure must have the right foundation for it to work well in their environment. The annual conference in Thailand gave the family an opportunity for medical checkups and the good news is there is no evidence of the chikungunya virus in Joseph’s blood anymore, though the pain may persist for some time. They are excited that JP and Bella, another MK, are starting school together with Jaimie as their teacher.

Jonathan & Amy

Following their marriage in January and pre departure orientation in February, Jonathan and Amy (Zimmerman) Prudhomme, our newest missionary couple, hope to return to Italy by mid-April. Pray they receive their visas and complete their support team in time to leave. There is a great need for evangelical churches in Italy and the Lord has moved in Jonathan’s heart to transition from student ministry to church planting. Pray for them as a couple as the Lord directs their path in marriage and ministry.

Marcelo

Marcelo gives praise for the pastoral teams at each of the three LaMision locations. Flores has finally seen its dream of an early childhood center come to fruition with 150 children ages one to three. The Lord has used the team there to save some of the children from abuse, malnutrition, homelessness, and more. Palermo, downtown, is thriving as is the university ministry. Merlo serves the west part of town and is seeing rapid growth in its community involvement. Pray for the LaMision leadership and outreaches at these three locations.
