John

John is grateful for progress made at the hatchery before the shutdown. They had the hatchery operational, two new villages available, and ready to hire another national church planter. They were also negotiating with a large international seafood company that would cover all the mari-culture stock produced this year. All that came to a screeching halt with the pandemic. Just last week they were able to place a team back onsite and are hoping to restart the hatchery. Pray for wise decisions and opportunity to share their faith and hope.

DeAnna

DeAnna is excited that the team going to Zambia has solidified, though they are unsure when they will be leaving, but hoping it will be this fall. Team members include Alicia from Murray State, Chase from North Texas, and Jeremiah a current 2PC Fellow. Pray they will trust the Lord’s timing in the process of moving. Pray God will use the Summer Leadership Project to continue moving His mission forward and raising up laborers for His Kingdom. Pray DeAnna will have wisdom and joy in leadership.

Dave & Joyce

Dave and Joyce continue to seek guidance on if he should plan a trip there later this year, and if they should return to Papua for 2-3 years to complete their work there. As he and helper Yormi continue their translation work via the internet it is difficult to resolve cultural questions and suggestions in a timely manner. Pray for good communication and understanding as they work on these challenging OT texts. The Bauzi people’s livelihood depends on selling their produce to the public, pray restrictions will be lifted soon.

Clarke & Khrystya

Clarke reports that during this time of transition, Holy Trinity has a full liturgical worship each Sunday, small groups, and a prayer group on Sunday evenings all via Zoom. Pray they will be led in humble service with wisdom and creativity as they seek to serve in new ways. In Clarke’s work with teens, pray God would raise up the next generation of disciples in Ukraine. Pray he will also be able to develop a relationship with the school just down the street from their new church building.

Juan & Maria

Home isolation has helped Juan recover health wise and able to finish some pending tasks. Pray for Harvest, the mission church near Corozal, for spiritual growth and maturity for their attendees, and for Ishmael Lopes who has taken the leadership role there. Pray for the potential elder candidates at Prince of Peace who are in training and for Juan and Maria as they minister in both churches and school. Pray for wisdom in holding virtual services as not all Church members have internet/data access.

For more info on Juan & Maria see page 73 of the prayer guide.

Jeff & Katie

Jeff and Katie’s ministry has changed dramatically not only with postponement of the Olympics but setting up a new RUF program for university students amidst anxiety and social distancing. Pray as he helps support the Suginami Church and Grace City during this time. Pray for increased language understanding, clarity in speech, and for confidence to do ministry in another language, and for the salvation of their friends, Mr. T and Mr. J.

For more info on Jeff & Katie see page 32 of the prayer guide.

Gibson

Gibson and his team at World Relief Malawi have been re-tooling much of their training to equip churches to help people with the proper preventative measures regarding COVID-19. They have developed hygiene instruction and hand-washing stations for people living in villages. Fletcher is preparing one of his church empowerment zones for “graduation” as they have been working with WR programming for ten years and are ready to strike out on their own. Pray for wisdom for Gibson and his team in creative and effective ministry.

For more info on Gibson see page 87 of the prayer guide.

Jeff & Lynne

Jeff and Lynne are grateful that the app, which came out of the prayer initiate for the disciple making movement among their special people group, is a reality and with a wider range encompassing their people group in other locations. They hope to return to their country of service in July if restrictions are lifted and ask prayer that when they return all their children would be accepted into the international school there. Continue to pray for the radio permit approval and the FB chatbot project.

For more info on Jeff & Lynne see page 63 of the prayer guide.

David & Aliece

David and Aliece continue their ministry online as they await return to Asia. On Sundays David preaches via the internet to churches there and tapes sermons, Sunday School lessons, and Seminary classes for their use. He continues to give pastoral care to the flock there during these challenging times ministering daily from 8 PM to 3 AM EST. Aliece’s Counseling Center is online with everything from Masters classes to personal counseling with church leaders and individuals, as they address emotional phases of pandemic and shepherding the deeply wounded.

For more info on David & Aliece see page 26 of the prayer guide.

Chris & Jen

While Chris and Jen prepare to serve in Athens, they remain involved locally and ask prayer for the college students on 8 campuses participating in the CO Summer Leadership Project to grow in their faith and learn how to impact others for Christ. Chris and Jen are working on building their Athens team while maintaining connections with church partners there. Pray for wisdom for them and their partners in Athens as they work to begin the new campus ministry when international travel and government regulations allow.
