Brian & Joanne

Brian reports they are under quarantine in UAE, so they have split their church into zoom groups with elders meeting with each one and Brian doing a weekly sermon on the web. They have started a Monday night prayer meeting with half to three fourths of the members participating. He is encouraged how the church members are loving one another, even taking in members whom they disciple while they provide housing for them. Pray the church will continue to grow during the pandemic.

Dave & Joyce

Dave is still planning a trip to Papua this fall in order to check Yormi’s and Rudi’s work on books they have recently translated. Dave will also go to Noiadi to check with other Bauzi language speakers to see how they are comprehending those translations. He asked we continue to pray for God’s clear direction on whether he and Joyce should return to Papua for another 2-3 years to finish the shorter Old Testament. This would be a huge challenge as they no longer have a house or belongings there, plus they are older now with new ailments that plague their bodies.

Herb & Heather

Herb and Heather ask prayer that Annoor will continue to be COVID-19 free and open for business. The doctors have worked hard to get a safe and effective routine in place at the out-patient clinic and keep it separated from the in-patients who are all high risk. Some former patients continue to be subjects of prayer especially Jeremy and Harold each struggling with life issues. Pray when the country re-opens that Herb’s residency status will be approved.

Dave & Robin

Dave and Robin report the local refugee sewing program “Sew for Hope” has been of major use to the medical community as they have been making masks and gowns. Some of the 20 students have no family income because of the tornadoes and virus but they continue to sew. They ask prayer for the staff in Turkey who have been their national partners for 20 years. One staff member has planted three churches there among refugees, but has been given a year to get out of Turkey. Pray for a breakthrough in his case.

Brian & Terri

While Brian was disappointed to not be taking Terri to Africa for a CO meeting and 30th anniversary celebration, he is grateful for the opportunities where they are. He asks prayer for rain in Chiang Mai to put out the fires and clean the air and for protection for his extended family. Pray for wisdom to lead, serve and minister, and for wisdom for the Thai Christian leaders. The indigenous staff spent time studying the foundations of the faith with the help of the Bangkok Bible Seminary, pray they will build on that foundation.

Josh

Even though the US and other governments called their citizens home, Josh stayed in Jakarta. He is healthy and feels confident in the Lord and the relationships he has provided for him there. Pray for continued health and opportunities to serve his teaching profession and Covenant City Church which is utilizing small group ministries and other on-line opportunities.

Rob & Tunde

Rob is seeing God use the pandemic for good in Hungary. They are live streaming the service from their home and he has been able to talk about the coronavirus and suffering and encourage people through the gospel. Their Facebook page showed over 1,000 listened and over 500 a month are checking out their web page, looking and listening to sermons. When the virus scare is over, they plan to continue to live stream from the church coffee shop. Pray that many will give their lives to Christ through the Futo’s ministry.

Faith

Faith’s plans to visit the U.S. have fallen through due to travel restrictions and the need to be in Uganda for her wedding. She is currently staying with a pastor’s family from fiance Seme’s church. She will move to the Bidibidi Refugee Settlement in the northern area, and become part of the Christco Fellowship of Churches where Seme is a pastor. Pray for her visa, for working out how to get some things she needs in the U.S, and for wisdom in planning her wedding apart from her family.

For more info on Faith see page 78 of the prayer guide.

Chris & Debbie

While Chris and Debbie are grateful to be in the US for their daughter Rebekah’s wedding next month, they are also grateful to be able to keep the “Sunrise House” available for any workers needing a place to stay. Pray God will use them to show the peace and love of Christ as they reach out to missionary workers and families, and those infected with fear via email and Skype. Pray for wisdom particularly in situations involving chronic illness, MK children and teens, interpersonal relationship stressors and those coping daily with danger and uncertainty where they live and serve.

She asks prayer for her health to continue and that she will make good use of her time waiting.
