Juan & Maria

Juan is grateful for his family’s health through this challenging time and for being able to minister to church members via videos sent during lockdown. They are now able to congregate with no more than 100 people, must practice social distancing and wear masks. The churches have had difficulty paying their pastors because many of the members are not working, but hopefully with the opening of business it will get better. Continue to lift-up Juan’s family and the two churches he oversees.

Judy

Though they have had one family in Kibera test positive for COVID 19, Judy’s prayer is that it will not spread because those in the slums are particularly vulnerable. They continue to struggle to feed and help those living there. Judy’s family suffered a tragedy as her sister who lives in the U.S., lost her son, tragically found dead in the street. Pray for comfort for the family as they grieve and continue to serve the people of Kenya.

Thomas & Jennifer

Praise that Jennifer was able to have surgery to remove the plate in her shoulder from a scooter accident several months ago  Pray for her recovery. Pray for Kevin, the husband of one of their first converts, Yongyi, who has asked to be baptized. Pray for Thomas as he prepares and helps him better understand Christianity. Also pray for Claire, who Jennifer meets with each week for Bible study. She has considered herself a Christian for awhile but unfortunately still worships other gods out of a sense of family duty. Please pray for her.

Steve & Marion

Steve informs us that despite the lockdown in South Africa, the work of preparing documents for government approval and curriculum accreditation continues. In fact, because of strict lockdowns in South Africa, many of the Genesis team members have been able to work on the project full time. Pray for Government approval and accreditation, for a suitable site to begin classes in 2022, formation of a faculty list, and for whatever is done to bring glory to His great name.

Scott & Tina

The Lawrence family has been able to spend time together in the US before returning to Ethiopia in August. While here Scott has continued to lead several SIM initiatives remotely and work on curriculum development for resident and fellow education at St. Paul’s Hospital in Addis. He is also utilizing this season to renew his medical board certification, an intensive process that occurs every 10 years. Pray for the family as they return to pick up what was put on hold by the virus.

Craig & Stacy

Craig gives praise that his eyesight has remained strong in his right eye and he can do pretty much everything as before. For six weeks they were able to have Sunday services in their new church building, but had to hold services from home when a total quarantine went into affect. He asks prayer for God in His mercy to bring healing to the ill, peace to the fearful, comfort to those grieving, and provision for those without sufficient employment. Congratulations to Karis who graduated from high school.

Aileen

After 55 years at Annoor, Aileen “realizes daily that His plan for me is always good and perfect”. The greatest joy is being able to share the Gospel with their patients each day. Pray that every Annoor volunteer will press boldly into the vision God gave the founders; that He would grant them special wisdom as they craft outreach and satellite ministries among the Bedouin; and that God would continue to provide grace and favor with government officials.

For more info on Aileen see page 37 of the prayer guide.

John

John gives praise as he reports that with the quarantine ending in his SE Asian country, they can place a team back on site in the islands. They are restarting hatchery work which is a big answer to prayer. Pray they can rapidly pick up production as well as ministry work and hopefully reclaim the business opportunity lost by the shutdown. Pray they can quickly get back to full capacity, for both staff and product.

For more info on John see page 65 of the prayer guide.

Greg & Sally

As of July 1st, Greg and Sally moved from supported missionaries to unpaid volunteers serving in an advisory role. Greg makes a heartfelt plea for missionaries to have the courage to leave their home and move into places where there are no born-again Christians willing to witness for Christ. Pray the Lord of the Harvest will thrust out a new generation of missionaries eager to do whatever it takes to live and make disciples among Muslim peoples. Pray for Greg and Sally as they learn to serve in a new way.

Jeff & Lynne

Jeff gives thanks that the community radio at the Training Campus continues to create many opportunities to share about Christ. Pray God would give their partners favor to get permits for the second FM station approved, and get the station set up and broadcasting as soon as possible. Pray as Jeff, Lynne and the kids prepare to return to their country of ministry and that the kids will be admitted in the International school.
