Pray that their time in the U.S. has been restful and refreshing for Jeff and Katie and their kids. Pray for Jeff as he prepares to speak at a church in Houston at the beginning of October. Barring any Covid restrictions, the family hopes to return to Japan mid-October. Pray for goodbyes with family and friends and for covid numbers to decrease so they can return. Pray for their RUF ministry in Tokyo and for the Lord to bring many to Himself through this ministry to university students.

Brian and Terri are celebrating the 40-year anniversary of Campus Outreach working on 122 campuses in 11 countries. Pray for Brian and Terri’s work on three campuses in Thailand as Covid has forced classes and ministry back online. Pray that the Lord would work despite Covid to bring adult conversions in Thailand and the Philippines. Pray that the economic and political unrest in Thailand will cause people to turn to the Lord. Ask the Lord to protect his church as he advances his Kingdom.

Guille gives praise that their church can now worship in person. He asks prayer for the annual conference of the Argentine Bible Society where he has been invited to teach this month. In addition, please pray for him as he teaches Greek classes the next three months and is involved with the team that will translate the commentaries of a Concise Bible Study into Spanish.

Jeff and Lynne continue to focus on prayer as the only hope for a breakthrough among the Malay people. Pray for the Lord to protect the church from government persecution and work powerfully in the places where His people are being abused by arrests and abductions. Ask Jesus to bring government leaders to salvation. Pray for the Lord to begin not only a movement of prayer, but of disciple making throughout Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Indonesia.

Roger and Abi Lowther ask prayer for Japan as the eyes of the world have been focused there during the Olympics/Paralympics. Pray that the Lord would use the “One Million Hours of Prayer” to bring great salvation to Japan. Continue to pray for the work of Community Arts Tokyo, and their local church. The Lowther’s are in the U.S. for a year of furlough.  Pray for son Aiden heading to college here, for the Lord to use this furlough to bring encouragement and refreshment to their family, and for good connections with supporters.

Pray that Norm and Ruth Ann feel refreshed and renewed as they finish up a month-long visit in the U.S., visiting their children and taking a vacation. While in the U.S. they met with the AWM Director regarding strategic planning for their leadership team. Pray for their team as they seek to discern what strategies and priorities God would have for their various ministries in 2022. Pray their adult children: Nathan completing online graduate studies while working fulltime at Johns Hopkins, and Elizabeth applying to medical schools.

Allison gives praise for calm following unrest and riots in S. Africa. Pray for the nation’s leaders to lead well. Pray for opportunities for the teams to share the gospel on their campuses in Pretoria, Witwatersrand, and Johannesburg, for the Lord to prepare the hearts of students who will believe, and that they will labor in turn. Pray for strong team dynamics, and for the Lord to move powerfully on these campuses. Praise God for new teammates Michael and Meghan and their three kids. Nicole reports that the resurgence of Covid has led to strict lockdowns in Jakarta.  Pray for the Lord to bring relief from the pandemic so that in person worship and evangelism can take place. Praise God for the Bible study that has begun in a friend’s office. Many want to learn English taught by an American, and 10 people came to the first meeting!  Ask the Lord to bring salvation through the Bible stories that they are teaching. Pray for the Lord to continue to use her Third Culture Kids Bible study to bring children to Christ. Pray for The Spirit to bless her CP training with her father in Uzbekistan.

Leonardo and Valeria de Chirico ask prayer as he preaches, teaches, and speaks. Pray for his new book, “Same Words, Different Worlds. Do Roman Catholics and evangelicals believe the same gospel?” Ask the Lord to use the book to work salvation among Roman Catholics. Pray for God’s blessing on Leonardo’s pastor training through IFED. Ask the Lord to move powerfully through Breccia Di Roma church in Rome and in their church plant in San Paolo, bringing salvation, and advancing the Kingdom of God.

Greg and Elizabeth are back in the U.S., but ask prayer for Lebanon as it has been over a year since they had a functioning government. There have been ongoing crises, but the fuel shortage is affecting everything from hospitals, water systems, and communications to vehicles. They have only 2 to 4 hours of power daily, and many have been in darkness throughout the summer. Pray that the Lord would provide miraculous solutions, and that the people would see that He is the One who has done it. Ask Jesus to work salvation through all of this.
