Hans & Carolein

Hans and Carolein are working in cooperation with ICU Gouda to organize their annual network day on November 21st – a day for everyone involved in intercultural church ministry. The theme is “How to be a safe church?”. There will be two workshops with the themes of: How to set boundaries, how to manage conflicts, abuse within the marriage and the family, persecution of faith, a prayerful life etc. Pray for all the logistics that go into planning this event and that this will be an inspiring day with enough time for fellowship and exchange.

Robby & Joyce

Robby shares that after the explosion, COVID cases sharply rose in Beirut as one can imagine. Two of the GROW staff were infected and the government issued a two-week lockdown, which slowed their clean-up and refurbishing progress. However, they were able to start reconstruction in late September. Pray for a smooth process and that the preschool can quickly resume at full capacity to serve the migrant and underserved children of the city.

DeAnna

DeAnna completed her Pre-Deployment training September 14-18 and received her visa. Pray as she was informed that her departure date for Zambia has been moved to January 2021. Pray for patience as she waits, for good use of the additional preparation time and for meaningful ministry here until she leaves. Pray for God to go before her and prepare the hearts of those she will meet and with whom she will share the gospel in Zambia.

WR Malawi

Praise God for his provision for World Relief in Malawi. Pray for protection for their staff and those they serve, and for peace and progress for the new government and leaders. Pray that WR Malawi can continue to serve the community and spread the love of Jesus through their service, education and relief efforts.

Ruslan & Zhanna

Praise God that Young Life Central Asia was able to host 3 camps at the end of the summer, where many young people gave their lives to Christ. Pray for follow up with those who professed faith at camps. Pray also for the developing Kazakh language work in Almaty, that they would connect well with their local church and church plant. Pray for Ruslan and Zhanna to have strength and wisdom to serve their area leaders throughout Central Asia.

Dave & Joyce

Dave reports consultants have finished checking Numbers and Judges and are now doing an exegetical check of Deuteronomy. While waiting for questions and responses from them, Dave keeps busy doing back into English translations of books they have ready for consultant checks. Yormi has produced a rough draft of numerous books, but Dave has yet to make revisions. Both Joyce and he have been safe from the virus, and he hoped to return to Papua for two months to do comprehension checks on the books, but Indonesia is not granting visitor work visas. Pray they will start to issue visas again soon.

George

Pray for George Tolias, as he continues to work with Emmanuel Tsoutsas and his team to launch a new church in Pangrati, a neighborhood of Athens, even during the pandemic. Pray that the meetings will continue to attract new people, and that the church planting team will have insight into how to serve and share their faith with students, artists, and young families in that neighborhood.

For more info on George see page 20 of the prayer guide.

Nicole

Nicole praises the Lord for a good and smooth first year in Indonesia. Pray that He will continue to open doors for ministry and building relationships. Pray for two new potential ministry opportunities: 1) doing a program with an Indian community in Jakarta where they would share Bible stories and help the kids process through their TCK identities, and 2) creating materials for Facebook pages reaching out to specific people groups around Indonesia.

For more info on Nicole see page 59 of the prayer guide.

Scott & Tina

After spending three months in the U.S. together as a family, Scott, Tina and their two younger sons are back in Ethiopia. Pray for their son James who remained in the U.S for college and will be living off campus for the first time. Scott gives thanks for the new equipment for the training work at St. Paul’s Hospital and the work and ministry at MCM General Hospital. They are excited and ask prayer for their trainees and those they are discipling face-to-face.

Kyle & Claudia

The situation in Argentina seems hopeless as the poverty index has risen to over 40%. But Kyle and Claudia have seen hope as many people step up and ask how they can help, and others are more open to hearing the Gospel. All church and ministry activities are still online, and Kyle has decided to start a small woodshop that would provide jobs for the 8 men he is currently training. He asks prayer for this project to become self-sustainable and successful. Also pray this project will have a Gospel impact in the men’s lives and in the neighborhood.
