Bill and Bobbie Boggess ask prayer for a suitable meeting place for their church with space for Sunday School, meals, and piano storage, and for their congregation to grow in quality and number. Also pray for salvation for a new Muslim family in the church; for Marc, Ndelamu and Julien to seek discipleship; and the Moroccean family to receive their immigration papers. Pray Bill and Bobbie will have health, strength, and perseverance to work for the King and for wisdom concerning retirement in three years.

A team from Second leaves tomorrow for Mozambique to participate in World Relief’s staff retreat and conference. While there they will check out the community center Second helped to build and investigate other ministry possibilities. Pray for eyes to see the needs Second can support and responses that show Christ’s love for the people and our support of World Relief. They return 9/25.

The trip to Greece provided insight to Dave and Robin concerning the possibility of expanding their work there. They are excited that “World” magazine awarded the Shivani Medes School, the refugee school they started for the Yazidi refugees in Dohuk, Iraq, the HOPE International Award. They ask prayer for staff recruitment, the safety of those arriving in Iraq, and for the request to begin another refugee school.

Nick and Amanda ask prayer to finish strong with their second year of Arabic study. Pray they will continue to study hard, build relationships with locals, and stay strong as a family.  After a good summer break highlighted by a visit from Amanda’s mom, Hazel and Ellie are back in school. Pray for Arabic teachers Th and R and for the group of guys Nick bikes with to have open conversations and for the Father to work in their hearts.

Brian P and his team give praise for the Cross and Crescent Conference they conducted in August in Louisville. 250 people attended and are already asking for another similar conference soon. Pray the insights they learned on reaching Muslim college students will be put into practice here in the US. Pray for J. who is being mentored by Brian to direct campus ministry on several campuses in the Middle East.

Paul and Violette Bridgman give praise for the healthy arrival of their first grandchild in July. While in the U.S., they ask prayer for safety and good responses from supporters, for Violette’s health issues that need to be addressed, for the right doctors, diagnoses, and treatment, and for God’s leading in planning for retirement. Pray God’s blessing on Jeffrey and Hannah’s wedding on the 19th.

Herb and Heather are on home leave, but ask prayer for their patients back at the hospital: Kathy who has two life threatening diseases; Nancy a long term patient who needs to return to her war torn country; for Matt to share the message of hope with his suffering family; and for Arthur a young refugee in a house with fellow refugees spreading TB among them. Pray for staff needs: for individuals with a heart of discipleship and love for sharing the Good News, particularly nurses, IT tech, Finance Manager, and administrative assistant.

Ruslan and Zhanna are so grateful for the college team from Second who led the English clubs and camp for the Young Life ministry in Kazakhstan. Pray for continuing spiritual fruit from the time spent at these two venues and for the Velilyayev family as they deal with many ministry and personal issues. Pray for twin Odelia to continue to respond to medical care and catch up with her sister in growth.

Dan and Stefanie are looking for another home where the girls can play outside, and for school options that provide Hindi speaking kids their age and free time to interact and play. Pray for office space to house a new business activity that will support their application for a new business visa when theirs expires next summer. Also pray for guidance from someone who has had experience in starting small businesses to walk them through this process.

A team from Second leaves tomorrow for Malawi to work with World Relief at their Family Life conference and do leadership training. Making up the team will be Dan & Catherine Burns, Matt Terhune, Jill Stockburger, Don Riley, Rob Crump, and Dennis Berry. While there they will also visit mission partners. Pray for this team and for all the interaction and encouragement they will share before returning on Sept. 23.
