Argentina ST Team

A team leaves tomorrow to work on a special construction project alongside churches in Argentina to renovate a kitchen, paint, and install cabinets. On the team are Susan Riley, David & Carol Stewart, and Bill & Martha Martin. A second project will be under taken with Marcelo Robles before the team returns Nov. 18. Pray for building a spirit of unity and fellowship between our members and the members of the church in Argentina.

Leslie

Leslie expresses thanks for the ongoing prayers and encouragement in her husband’s job search. He has a job in his field in Berlin, and looks forward to becoming the lab leader when the current one retires. A second note of thanks is for her daughter’s school situation. Her class is very international with 10 nationalities represented and has very engaging teachers. Pray for Leslie and her family as they settle into a more normal routine.

Karen

Pray for Karen Taylor’s Memphis home to be rented quickly so that she can focus on her Cambodian classes. Pray for her teaching skills and student connections, and for strong bonding in the midst of new leadership and additional/new teachers. Her role as administrative assistant has been going smoothly, pray that continues and for her language skills to improve.

Rob & Tunde

Rob and Tunde rejoice in God’s blessing that over 80 attended the first worship service at the new Budapest church plant, even though no advertising was done. Pray for the start team who met, planned, and prayed together for nine months to birth this church. Pray for unity in Spirit as they work through the development and naming of this new fellowship and for those on the team who have been under spiritual attack.

John & Dawn

John F. gives praise for how the Holy Spirit infused the Intl Leadership Conference recently held in Thailand. John and Dawn worked tirelessly in preparing for this gathering that is held every five years. As each attendee returns to his or her home, pray they will reflect on how God graced them with His peace and presence and use that in their service to Him.

Ronnie

Ronnie Stevens just finished teaching university students in the Czech Republic and is back in Budapest preparing for their move on Nov. 17th.  Pray for wisdom as he and Jane make decisions about their belongings and whether to rent or buy. Jane has been busy with the final art Museum lectures. Pray for wisdom in planning their 2016 ministry schedule and for Ronnie to be mindful of his health and adjust his activities accordingly.

Daryl & Marlene

JAARS is hosting an Aviation Safety Summit in N. Carolina through Nov. 5. This brings aviation safety leaders from many mission organizations together to develop guidelines for the future. Pray for Daryl and Marlene Bussert as they have been working on the many details of this event which is held every five years. Pray for Daryl’s coworker Glenn as he finalizes the report concerning a helicopter accident in Papua, New Guinea.

AWEMA Conference

Dan Burns is in the Middle East teaching and speaking at the AWEMA Conference. Pray for guidance as he builds relationships and determines how Second can support this group in ministering in the Middle East. Pray for strength, protection, and opportunities to encourage these Christian leaders.

Dave

Dave D. is leading a team to Greece to distribute basic care packages to the many refugees coming through that country. Pray the team will have access to the refugees and be able to minister to them in some way. The schools in Iraq are doing well and new staff is already lining up for next year. They have been asked to educate additional refugee children, pray for the teams there and for wisdom for Dave as he evaluates opportunities and resources.

IDOP

Today we pray for the persecuted church throughout the world. Pray for the many Christians fleeing their homes in war torn countries, especially the Middle East, and for the wars to end so they can return to their homes and jobs. Pray for those who have come to faith in Christ to stand strong and not revert back to old beliefs. Pray their faith would grow and help spread the Good News where ever they are. Pray for Christians imprisoned for their faith and that governments would stop closing Christian churches.
