Dave B served as a consultant in checking some Auyu passages and is preparing to check the book of Revelation in the Kosarek language this fall. Pray for Joyce in her continuing literacy program and those who will be adapting lessons into other languages so that children in isolated areas can get a solid start in education. Pray for the team continuing to develop the Lani tongue material for preschool and grades 1 and 2.
Pray for Ron Sadlow leading a college team of 4 who leave tomorrow for Budapest where they will work with the Paulus Movement’s new Budapest project church plant. They will work with university students doing English clubs and developing relationships before returning July 31.
With a growing team and regional responsibilities, the Youngs were grateful for a brief vacation to celebrate their 25th anniversary. They ask prayer for resolution with personnel issues at MEDIC in the Sultanganj area, for unity to be restored in the Shalom Church, and for growth and transformation through the church and its people.
The Prices pray that the Father has used Ramadan to draw people to Himself and that they would know him as the one true Father. Pray they can have wisdom, discernment and boldness in spiritual conversations following Ramadan as many people are feeling more “religious”. Pray for spiritual and physical protection for the Prices and their friends.
Leslie asks prayer for the huge challenges, hurdles and opportunities presented in regard to the refugee situation in Germany. Pray for His Spirit to move in many hearts to change the world. Pray for her friend F. as she returns home to Syria and that what she has seen and heard will grow and bear fruit. GEM’s leadership team in Germany has grown, pray for wisdom and grace as they lead their German colleagues.
Norm and Ruth Ann seek prayer as they focus on strategically managing the global growth of Pioneers with more non-western partners joining the movement. 67 Young adults traveled to over 20 locations around the world to serve on “EDGE” teams for 8-12 weeks and 34 missionary appointees took the next step in preparation for their field service. Pray for Norm & Ruth’s leadership roles and for all those going out under the banner of Pioneers for Christ.
Rob Crump, Don Riley, Michael & Jill Stockburger, Amy Carson, John & Britton Laughlin, and Dan Burns leave for Malawi tomorrow where they will form three sub-teams doing seminars on marriage and family life, pastoral training and youth ministry training in the Ntchisi district under the direction of our partner Fletcher. They will stay in town then travel out into the villages to do the teaching, and visit community centers that serve the most vulnerable in Malawi. The team returns July 24.
Mitchell and Lisa are in a very difficult season concerning their call and need prayer for wisdom, protection, provision, and the Lord’s clear providence. The end of this second year has been very sanctifying as individuals, in marriage, and ministry. Pray their progress in language/cultural study really sticks. Pray for the 6 student chaplain office interns from 6 different faculties and for Lisa who will finish her degree in August.
Tezar will launch the first public worship service at his church plant in Jakarta on July 17. Pray for the core team of leaders as they organize and prepare for this service. Pray that new people will be attracted to this fellowship, through either the community groups or the worship service, and be drawn to faith in Christ. Pray for Tezar and Tatiana as they launch this church together.
After a year of home leave filled with various medical issues, Paul and Violette Bridgman return to their mission in Japan. Pray for a good medical provider in Japan for the medication Violette needs. Pray also for wisdom in forming their vision of ministry in this new term as they are hoping to plant a daughter church for Sakaragaoka Church.
