Jackie covets our prayers for the Women’s Bible Studies at Covenant City Church to be a time when women dig into Scripture and grow together. Currently she is co-leading studies at various locations throughout the week. Pray for opportunities to meet more majority friends through English clubs or other avenues, and for a time to meet with a group of ladies in the northern part of the city.  Pray for Jackie’s daily faithfulness in pursuing all the things the Lord has given her.

Chris and Debbie have moved back to Budapest allowing them easier access to those needing care in a crisis or serious situation. They have been in Thailand providing care to those serving in Central and Southeast Asia and participating in a conference focused on missionary children’s educational needs. Next, they are off to Malaysia and Indonesia working with team leader couples from 5 countries. Pray for logistics, travel, and God’s leading as they reach out to missionaries in need.

Scott sees evidence of God’s work among the people of Ethiopia each day. One example was the return of a young woman who had arrived a week earlier with corneal ulcers causing loss of vision and who can now see. A trip to train a doctor in a distant area found him away, however, the Lord provided two ophthalmology residents eager to learn glaucoma surgery thus opening the door for follow up training trips. Pray for Scott and Tina as they provide training and spiritual guidance to medical professionals.

Ruslan and Zhanna ask prayer for the Young Life Central Asia winter camps going on in different areas. Pray for all who want to attend to be able to attend. Pray for God to work through the leaders and touch and bless each participant’s heart.  Lastly, pray for Ruslan and Zhanna’s leadership of these Young Life activities, their varied leadership roles and for their growing family.

Michael has completed his first semester of teaching at the university and found it to be a wonderful office environment with coworkers, and good interaction with students conducive to building relationships. He has been granted leave so that he, Caroline and the kids can attend their agency’s annual conference in Thailand with 700 other workers for a week of training, encouragement, and worship. Pray for a time of refreshment and renewal.

Valery and Janna report that Wycliffe Russia has launched a new project translating the Bible into Russian Sign Language.  The team is made up primarily of hearing impaired members. They are researching to see if this translation will be useful for the hearing impaired in other Russian speaking countries. Pray for this innovative outreach and other Wycliffe projects. The home Bible study reaches people of three denominations including Russian Orthodox, pray that all who attend will grow in the Lord.

Dan Burns is wrapping up a trip which began with teaching in the Middle East, then traveling on to visit with our partners in Kazakhstan, Cambodia, and Indonesia. Pray for timely and safe travel and protection from the fatigue and health issues that travel often brings.  Also pray for M, whom Dan worked with in the Middle East, as he recovers from surgery to remove a tumor from his leg.

Herb asks that we pray for God to intervene with the Ministry of Labor on behalf of Annoor in granting government required work permits for the volunteers. They have served the people of Jordan for over 50 years, pray this new legal issue will not affect the ongoing ministry to those who are dealing with various stages and types of TB and need the loving care they can only get at Annoor.
