Following three weeks in Papua for the triennial aviation audit, Daryl and Marlene are back home addressing budgeting and plans based on directions from JAARS leadership. Pray for wisdom and discernment as they finalize the budget and plans. Pray also that the family that accompanied them in Papua will decide to join the JAARS team upon completion of military obligations. Pray for continued healing of the Aviation Manager in Papua who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident.

Jackie asks prayer for the four community groups at CCC and for the two women’s Bible study groups she leads. Pray for wisdom as they seek a community for Ladeenah who was kicked out of her home for converting, for her faith to withstand these trials and for people with similar backgrounds to fellowship with as Jackie and her friend disciple her. Pray for Jackie to buiild relationships with kids and their parents in one of the under-resourced neighborhoods as she tutors them in English.

Dave and Robin have been with refugee programs locally, training staff for departure to Iraq, and training small teams going to Greece. This is the third season for the Walk and Talk program with Muslim women and American church women, and they are seeing friendships form that can lead to further work locally or even overseas. Pray for them as they discern where to spend their time, resources, and efforts most effectively and for spiritual fruit in all their endeavors.

Laura has returned to the Middle East after spending the summer helping with family medical issues here. She is living in the capital city for 16 months learning the language, culture, and tools to share the Gospel with locals and refugees. Pray she will be able to build solid relationships to share God’s love and for her as she adjusts to this new routine following her year of teaching missionary children in Jordan.

After witnessing the miraculous healing of a member of Kyle and Claudia’s small group facing brain surgery, his unbelieving in-laws have become receptive. Later seeds were planted at a discussion between a father and one of Kyle’s graduates. They are grateful to see God work in and through the impossible. Pray for Kyle as he pursues graduate studies in business and develops the needed tools to move the ministry to another level. Pray for the new program at La Mision Merlo directed to adolescents and teens from the neighborhood.

Matthew and Sarah are 2PC national partners who have a Biblical training school for believers who come from closed countries. Their students face many obstacles and challenges getting there, being there, and upon their return home. Pray for one student having difficulty with his wife to the point that she demands he give up the work of the church, pray she will come to saving faith. Pray for Matthew and Sarah as they seek God’s will in regard to where to move now that the school’s apartment has been sold.

Pray for the team of seven led by Barton Kimbro serving with Giotis Kantartzis, George Tolias and the Gylfada Church in Athens. Kirsten & Charlie Scheel, Josh & Becca Sloan, Josh Berkey, Mary Morgan Gladney, and Amanda Coop are working primarily in the refugee community before returning on Sept. 9. Pray for our team and our partners in Athens as they work to meet the physical and spiritual needs of these refugees.

David and Lisa ask prayer for their ward Bella, her diagnosis, to find a doctor in the US who will treat her, that they would be able to get visas for her and her mom, and for finances for airline tickets. They were able to get a prescription for Bella but it was cost prohibitive. Pray for David’s monthly eye treatment which he gets in Thailand and the added financial burden of getting there.

Ronnie and Jane have returned to the field though they are not sure if they will be able to return to the place they left in July. Government regulations have greatly impacted their stay and opportunities there. Pray they will be able to get the desired outcome regarding the inviting agency and visa, and for ways to preach, teach, and evangelize within the legal framework.

Amanda and the children were able to attend the World Outreach Family Gathering, but because of Nick’s visa he was unable to join them. Pray for Nick’s visa issue to be resolved. They are excited about the developing friendship they have with a Syrian family who are Christians and facing severe family persecution for converting. Pray for new relationships as Nick’s visa struggles have given him more clout with the Syrian men as they understand he has received no special treatment because he is American.
