Josh

Josh enjoyed a brief visit home over the holidays and is now back into the routine of teaching and language study in Jakarta. Almost every Thursday he invites a few students to hang out in his room, eat lunch and watch basketball highlights on YouTube. He has been having spiritual conversations with one of his students, pray for V to come to saving knowledge. Pray for Josh to have perseverance and diligence in his language acquisition.

Cambodia ST Trip

Dan Burns and John Walpole will spend the next week in Cambodia visiting the World Relief staff. They will assess our involvement there in terms of potential short-term opportunities, and our strategic partnership. Pray for travel mercies, for clear vision and Godly wisdom as they assess the opportunities and/or challenges of ministry there.

Brian & Joanne

Brian had the joy of baptizing four young men and women who came out of prosperity gospel backgrounds, two from Nigeria and one from India. Pray for Serena, Amber, Favor, and Prince that they will grow in faith, hope and love. The Church members enjoyed a campout at the world’s biggest sand dunes. Pray for Brian’s opportunities to share the gospel to a roomful of Hindus and at church each Friday evening. Pray for the growth and freedom to move the worship and ministry activities to appropriate places in their city.

Heath & Angela

Pray for Heath and Angela at Tenwek Hospital in Kenya as they deal with unique issues. Tribal warfare caused an arrow to lodge in a man’s forehead and he was flown by helicopter to the hospital where by providence a special surgeon successfully removed it, in the maternity wing beds are often occupied by two women, or patients may be healed but not released until they pay their bill. Pray for wisdom and grace as they face challenges that come with providing medical care in a difficult setting, working cross-culturally, teaching and discipling others and navigating team dynamics.

For more info on Heath & Angela see page 41 of the prayer guide.

Tim & Huilan

Due to circumstances on the mainland, Tim and Huilan have decided to move to Taiwan this summer. Their focus will continue to be mainland Chinese through theological education as well as local Taiwanese. Pray for Huilan as she continues with her Parakaleo Ministry to the wives of church planters. Pray for their partners at Early Rain who were sentenced or awaiting trial, and for Micah as he fills out college applications. Pray for safe travel as they attend the China Partnership Conference later this month.

Leonardo

Thankfully Leonardo’s wife Valeria was not severely injured in the bicycle accident that occurred after she returned from participating in the Women in Leadership Conference in Austria. There were 160 women from around the world and she was able to share with them about the refugee work of II Soggiorno in the heart of Rome. Leonardo has been preaching and teaching in Switzerland and Spain as well as at his church in Rome. Pray for Spirit led proclamation and open ears and hearts to the messages.

For more info on Leonardo and Valeria see page 4 of the prayer guide.

Greg & Elizabeth

Securing visas can be complicated as Greg and Elizabeth just encountered when they reapplied for a yearlong residency visa. Approval required them to fly from the US, necessitating a trip to Memphis to spend a few days and then fly back to Lebanon. This was further complicated by the fact their baby is due this month. Pray all goes well for the delivery, the family, and for being able to rejoin the team in working with refugees in Lebanon.

For more info on Greg & Elizabeth see page 67 of the prayer guide.

John & Dawn

John and Dawn have seen God work through prayer as they dealt with the sudden life-threatening injury of his sister Susie. He was reminded of her gentle words of encouragement that have sustained him in ministry through the years. They were grateful for time with her beloved family during their abbreviated home leave. Pray for daughter Kristi taking nursing certification boards this month after ranking in the top 1% in her comprehensive test.

For more info on John & Dawn see page 82 of the prayer guide.

Haley

Haley has spent the last two years studying Arabic in preparation for full time service at Annoor. Dedication to language study has liberated her to a deep-rooted joy that is a manifold answer to prayer. Pray the people in her city will seek peace and justice in Jesus and not in governments, wealth or anything else. Pray for the poor and powerless in the country, and for completion of her language training before her home leave in the U.S. from April to June.

For more info on Haley see page 71 of the prayer guide.

Craig & Stacy

Pray for wisdom for Craig and Stacy regarding whether to seek diagnosis and treatment in the US for his eye condition. Their agency and doctors in Chile are encouraging them to do so as there are openings at a couple of top-notch eye centers. Despite ongoing protests and violence in their country they have adapted their plans and returned to most of their normal activities. They ask prayer for the Lord’s wisdom, justice, and grace to prevail and the light of the Gospel to advance throughout Chile.
