Jonathan & Sharon

Jonathan and Sharon are grateful to be in the northern part of their country and close to her family. Sharon continues to home-school Alicia and Gia until the school they are helping to start begins in August. They have started a small house fellowship which meets on Friday nights, pray it will grow. Jonathan has been doing training for the UN, WHO and the World Food program. Sharon recently finished a curriculum for poorer school children to learn English working in collaboration with the group Operation Agape. Pray for this busy couple as they lead, train and care for many.

Paul & Violette

Paul and Violette are grateful Sakuragaoka is becoming an inter-generational church. Pray Mrs. Osaka, the pastor’s wife, will begin a Sunday morning Bible class for young moms with small children, and for the kids outreach efforts to bring kids and their families into the church. Violette is having some gastro issues, pray for a clear diagnosis and treatment. Pray for travel safety and good fellowship for all those traveling to the regional TEAM conference in Thailand this month.

Jackie

Pray for wisdom for Jackie and others involved in relief work for the families affected by massive flooding in Jakarta. She and her intern Amanda have begun a women’s study in the book of Hebrews, pray for Amanda to grow in courage and knowledge of His Word and for the women to grow in love for God and one another. Pray for discernment for Jackie as she identifies women capable of leading others as part of the new church-planting team, and for resources and energy to walk alongside them and equip and empower them.

For more info on Jackie see page 32 of the prayer guide.

Herb & Heather

Pray for Herb’s residency visa to be issued, thankfully Heather’s was approved. Annoor continues to face challenges in getting long-term residencies for volunteer staff. They are chronically short of nurses and getting foreign nurses registered is nearly impossible. Pray for a breakthrough in 2020 and for their government liaison Ruba not to despair. They have seen some encouraging transformations in patients over the past year, every day brings opportunities for a breakthrough in another broken life. Pray for healing of body and spirit of those who come to Annoor.

For more info on Herb & Heather see page 12 of the prayer guide.

Chris & Debbie

Plans are constantly changing for Chris and Debbie as they provide pastoral care, counseling, spiritual direction, and critical incident interventions to our missionaries around the world. Even while in the U.S., an unexpected drive-by shooting damaged their car while visiting their daughter and a premature grandchild. Pray for daughter Mary and new baby, for member care meetings, a week of classes for Debbie on healing prayer, and the ability to get needed repairs on their US house before returning to Hungary to begin the whirlwind of ministry demands.

For more info on Chris & Debbie see page 61 of the prayer guide.

Kenya ST Team

A team leaves today to work with Judy Mbugua and Homecare Spiritual Fellowship in Kenya. Part of the team, Yvonne Hardin, Susan Warner, Dot Hammons, Hannah Hardin, Debbie Perkins and Laura Cofield take fabric and sewing supplies to lead sewing classes for the women and lead the children in making crafts. Mike Warner and Jay Cofield will teach a Third Millennium course to local pastors. Pray for servant hearts as our team ministers in different areas of need and for their love, comfort, and care to be obvious to those with whom they work. They return Feb. 14th.

E. Asia Partnership

Continue to remember and pray for our friends in China, especially Pastor Wang Yi who was recently sentenced to 9 years in prison and for his family. And for Paul whose church members continue to suffer government scrutiny. Pray for the new house churches set up throughout the city to grow, and for the gospel to go forth despite efforts to curtail it.

John & Dawn

“Intimacy with God” was the theme of the South Asia conference where John spoke, which was especially timely as he and Dawn help their beloved teams and personnel prepare for transition to a new region. They are thrilled at the new ministry vistas opening for their colleagues and teams throughout South Asia and are encouraged by the restructuring undertaken by the International Leadership Team. As they continue home assignment, pray they will be able to connect with family and friends in a way that encourages and renews them for the tasks ahead.

For more info on John & Dawn see page 82 of the prayer guide.

Ron Hickman and Don Batchelor will join them and visit Tezar and CCC in Jakarta to see the exciting growth and opportunities for sharing the gospel. Pray their time will be productive as they train and encourage co-laborers in Indonesia.
