Greg & Sally

Over the years Greg and Sally have come to realize young people find it hard to imagine serving as missionaries among Muslim peoples unless they have team leaders whom they trust and have confidence in. The huddles they have several times a year for aspiring team leaders is being opened and offered to all the mission agencies focused on Muslims. Pray this will result in team leaders ready to recruit and build teams for long term ministry among Muslims.

Andy & Brooke

Andy is encouraged as global staff connect virtually with students they had a hard time connecting with face to face. The CO Serve director in New Zealand indicated students were more available than they had been on campus. Pray for fruit in the 15 cities where CO Serve is now, and for the 3 new locations they hope to open this year. Pray the Holy Spirit will work in the lives of staff and students, for new disciples of Jesus, for staff to be called by the Lord to cross cultural barriers to become missionaries, and for Christ centered families which is counter cultural.

Faith

Faith gives thanks for the two months spent with Pastor Wambete and his wife, enabling her to see family life there as they mentored her in her relationship with the Lord. Her time with them was an answer to prayer. She and Seme Ludanga will be married July 25, pray restrictions will be lifted so they can have family and friends join in the celebration. She asks prayer that God will prepare and mature her for the life ahead.

Jon & Mo

Jon and Mo have much to accomplish in preparation for their move to Jakarta. Fortunately, Jon’s seminary classes are now online and count toward residency requirements, eliminating travel expenses and time away from family. If support is raised and it is safe to travel, they would be in a position to move following their missionary assessment in October. Pray their hearts will be fully surrendered to the Lord, their desire for Him above all else, for wisdom and to walk by faith in His call to Indonesia.

Nick & Amanda

Nick and Amanda give thanks that she received her residency visa allowing them to stay. Before the lockdown they were excited to see the husbands of three women Amanda had been discipling for over three years begin to study the Bible with Nick. They ask prayer for God’s provision for their Syrian friends unable to work and care for their families. They are grateful their landlord allowed them access to the private rooftop terrace so the children could play outside. Pray for continued good health and for the girls to continue learning from home.

Leslie

In her coaching role for new GEM staff in Germany, Leslie has begun a third cohort. It was fun to see the unique things in their new home country that helped them integrate and adjust. Pray for the new staff in Frankfurt as they apply for residence permits, look for apartments, find friends and adapt to a different country. Pray for their children to have protection, joy, and security in Christ. Leslie’s focus this year is on managing her energy. Pray she will continue to see a positive impact from changes made.

Dean & Kyria

Dean and Kyria rejoice they can meet again in person with their language helper. Pray that God will enable them to hear, understand, and speak their new language well. They are grateful for good neighbors, Fizuli and Arzu, and their kindness to them, and pray the friendship continues even after they move out of their apartment building. Pray they can be an encouragement to their teammates who have persevered through some very difficult challenges lately. Pray for guidance as they begin exploring a couple of leads for work among minority languages where they live.

For more info on Dean & Kyria see page 49 of the prayer guide.

Aileen

Pray for God to equip Aileen as she works at the clinic and visits Bedouin families. Bedouin believers have very little spiritual support, so pray God will sustain them through His Holy Spirit. Pray for the nursing staff as they offer compassionate care for their patients and for the Ras An Naqab Clinic in the southern part of Jordan. Pray God will intervene in Safiya‘s life, protecting, providing, and using her for His honor, and for Farid to be strengthened in his newfound faith.

For more info on Aileen see page 37 of the prayer guide.

Roger & Abi

In response to the lockdown in their country, Roger and Abi’s church started the Living Room Worship series and they have recorded six short videos on prayer in Japanese with English subtitles and six new songs. Roger’s book “The Broken Leaf” is available on Amazon and he has another in progress. “Aroma of Beauty” contains stories and meditations from the 2011 earthquake in Japan and will be released in English and Japanese in time for the 10th anniversary. Pray for all these efforts to bring the gospel to the Japanese.

George Tolias

George Tolias shares that the Lord has given new ways to serve the community of Athens as Glyfada Church moved to online services. They continue to encourage the refugee community by offering programs such as Greek and English classes over the internet. Pray as George recovers from radiation treatment for the benign tumor behind his eye and for the follow-up MRI in a few weeks.
