Tim & Huilan

Tim and Huilan are grateful that his COVID test came back negative and the family completed their quarantine in Taiwan without incident. Pray for the family as they get settled into a new home and school, learn a new city and culture, and resume ministry activities. They also ask prayer for the three missionary families within their region who are facing critical issues with their visas as all of them are planning to go to E. Asia.

Chris & Debbie

Challenges often present us with an opportunity to grow, as Chris and Debbie have witnessed, as they get creative in ministering to workers during the pandemic. Virtual ministry has allowed them to go more places more often than they ever could otherwise. They ask prayer for wisdom as they make plans to travel to see missionary units, for good quality time connecting face to face, and to be able to encourage those who are discouraged not knowing when they will be able to return to their country of service.

For more info on Chris & Debbie see page 12 of the prayer guide.

Steve & Lizzie

Steve and Lizzie returned to the U.S. in July so that he could undergo medical tests to help address lingering health concerns. They give praise for a diagnosis and treatment plan that Steve can hopefully maintain back in Romania. They have enjoyed time with family and friends and ask prayer for their return to Romania later this month. Recently, they moved from Cluj to Târgoviște, pray for their ministry efforts as they seek to engage with youth and young adults in their new city.

Greg & Elizabeth

Praise Greg is doing physical therapy for his knee at home and his range of motion is improving. Pray for his continued recovery and for Elizabeth as she continues to care for both Greg and Hermione. Their apartment is only about 2 miles from the site of the explosion, thankfully it suffered only minor damage, and no one was hurt. Their team is grateful to be alive and well and beginning to feel normal again as they have spent time together. Pray for Greg and Elizabeth and their team to be salt and light during this traumatic time for Beirut.

For more info on Greg & Elizabeth see page 42 of the prayer guide.

Lenden & Gemma

Like many around the world Lenden & Gemma are dealing with restrictions due to COVID. One of their big concerns is schooling for their two girls. Local school was tough on the family when it previously went virtual. School has enough challenges but trying to do virtual learning in another language with elementary kids is very difficult. They could hire a local tutor, but that would only work if restrictions were lifted so the tutor could come to their home. Pray for wisdom and solutions for how to manage schooling if it goes virtual again.

For more info on Lenden & Gemma see page 50 of the prayer guide.

Paul & Violette

Pray for Paul and Violette as she has cataract surgery on her left eye today and then her right eye on the 26th. Pray the surgery will go well with minimal discomfort and that Violette will be able to continue her task of cleaning up their house in preparation for retirement in 2021. Pray for the kids outreach that is scheduled to restart today and for Paul as he prepares to lead the midweek Bible study and prayer meeting starting on the 9th.

For more info on Paul & Violette see page 24 of the prayer guide.

Herb & Heather

Herb and Heather celebrated their 70th birthdays with much cake, singing and sharing with friends. They also give praise for the safe and healthy arrival of twin grandsons David and Jonathan born to Lukas and Vivian in Saskatchewan. Herb and Heather celebrated by delivering sweets to the staff and patients at Annoor. Continue to pray for good health and safety for staff and patients at the hospital.

For more info on Herb & Heather see page 40 of the prayer guide.

Jackie

The original plan was to spend a month in the U.S, but the virus changed things. Although Jackie has a visa, it is not one of the ones being allowed to enter Indonesia. No new visas are being processed for foreigners at this time. Pray for a way for Jackie to return to Indonesia and for peace as she waits on God’s timing. Pray for the new study on 1 Peter and for the 45 women who signed up for the virtual study groups to know the Lord more deeply through the study of His word.

For more info on Jackie see page 57 of the prayer guide.

The Youngs

Pray for the Youngs as he mourns the death of his mother at the end of July. They are grateful that his youngest brother and his family were able to be by her bedside. The Youngs report that the northern part of their country has suffered flooding adversely affecting some four million people. While they are still able to get some relief out to people in need, pray for further relief efforts as the country is still in a tight lockdown due to COVID.

For more info on the Youngs see page 53 of the prayer guide.

Andy & Brooke

Andy and Brooke ask prayer for the CO teams around the world today as they have a special Laborer’s Day of prayer and fasting. Andy reports there are ten staff who have completed their fund raising but are unable to leave because their countries of service have closed borders. He has a project called LEAD U to use these staff members to reach out to university students in Birmingham who have limited campus ministry options. Pray this will help these staff feel used by God while they wait to leave for overseas service and be a blessing to the university students.

For more info on Andy & Brooke see page 25 of the prayer guide.
